NO HORSE, YES HORSE VIRTUAL RUN

5/1/2020

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE?
We have created a fun community piece for any of our 2020 registered Wild Horse Traverse runners. It's a space to help support and encourage you to stay in touch with your goals and to keep training spirits high as we move through this tough and unprecedented time. It doesn't cost anything and doesn't replace the options offered when we announced the cancellations.

We believe strongly in the strength of our running community and in particular the PACE family when it comes to keeping a positive attitude, being kind, encouraging and celebrating one another's accomplishments. This challenge is more a way to help us all stay connected with one another and our goals, whether this means getting out for a 30min run, getting out for hike or setting high benchmarks and digging deep to achieve them.

You don't have to run a particular distance to register for the virtual run - anyone registered for the 2020 Wild Horse Traverse can participate, however in order to win prizes, earn your finishers t-shirt and finishers medal, you must run between 35k & 50k. You have between May 15th and June 7th to log your N.H.Y.H. run. (we will announce the prizes on June 8th via facebook watch party live)

HOW DO I REGISTER?
1. There is no additional cost to participate in the virtual run. It's part of your 2020 race entry fee and 100% optional.
2. Official registration is through the the No Horse, Yes Horse Google doc HERE. Everyone who registers BEFORE May 15th and completes between 35k & 50k earns a finishers t-shirt and medal which will be mailed after June 7th.
3. Join the private FB group called: NO HORSE, YES HORSE ACCOUNTABILITY CHALLENGE. This is being used as a positive and motivating community space that is totally optional. It's a great way to share training photos, meet new runners and engage with the Wild Horse community for those interested.
4. Tag a picture of your virtual run with one of the following:

TELL ME ABOUT THE PRIZES!
We want to thank our sponsors Hammer Nutrition Canada & Salomon for their longtime support. We have decided to allocate our 2020 prizing to all of our virtual challenges this year.

PST via facebook watch party live on our PACE Sports Fitness & Mountain Running Camps facebook page.

- 3 individual $100 product codes to shop online with Hammer Nutrition Canada.

Wildhorse & Broken Goat Cancellations

4/8/2020

We recently sent out an email to all Wild Horse Traverse & Broken Goat racers announcing our decision to cancel these events for the 2020 season in an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19 and support bending the curve.

We invested hours into our decision making process over the past three weeks and there are many moving parts and factors to our decision. One of our major considerations was that both of these races take place in very small communities and we have a rather large ratio of racers coming from out of province. Broken Goat, for example, would have over 1,000 people with racers, racers friends/family, volunteers, our partners and our team, that would enter the small community of Rossland and approx. 150 of these racers would be coming from out of province.

We understand there are a lot of mixed feelings, however we are truly doing what we feel is best to prioritize the health and safety everyone involved.

If you didn’t receive an email, please check your spam folder and email us with any questions you have. We will not be answering questions on our social media feeds. Thanks for your cooperation.

We know many hearts are breaking right now and ours are too. Just because we can’t hug it out in person right now, doesn’t mean we can’t send out our love. We want to thank everyone who has responded with kindness, words of support and compassion.

Wildhorse Traverse 50k COVID-19 Update

3/26/2020

Hello Wildhorse family,

On behalf of the entire PACE team, we want to thank you for all the unwavering support and patience as we all move through this uncertain time.

We are continuing to closely monitor the current COVID-19 pandemic as we are at a very critical time in British Columbia, in terms of the direction the curve will take.  Unfortunately, we can now confirm that the Wildhorse Traverse will not take place as scheduled on May 30, 2020. The information we receive over the next week, however, will help us determine whether we postpone or have to cancel the event. For anyone who has made specific travel plans for the May 30, 2020, event we hope this update allows you time to make the necessary adjustments (if you haven’t already) with minimum consequences.

Today is simply about reaching out and communicating where we are currently at in this  process. By the end of next week, we will send an email to all the racers with more information regarding the direction of Wildhorse but in the meantime, please refrain from sending any emails until we forward further information. We know you all want more answers, however, please understand that there are a lot of moving parts and we are working hard to pull everything together.

There is no higher priority for us than the health and safety of everyone involved and that community is at the very heart of the PACE Trail Series. We want to take this opportunity to let you know that we understand everyone is processing and coping with the current pandemic differently. We also understand that people have different levels of support, stress and responsibilities during this time and that not two people are feeling the same way. For today, please accept a big virtual air hug and allow us to pass along our optimism. We believe in the strength of the Wildhorse community and that we will get through this together and be stronger in the end.

Spring Event Update

3/13/2020

There is no question that the world is feeling a little unsettled with all the uncertainty around Covid19 (Coronavirus).

The PACE team wants to stay true to our values and keep a strong sense of community during this time and also ensure we do our part to help stay ahead of the curve in order to keep people safe.

We are continuing to monitor the ever-changing status of the Coronavirus and will keep you informed with any changes to our events as we go. Accordingly, updates will be posted here.

In the meantime, we hope that you’re able to stay healthy and connected with your running goals and we want to thank everyone for their support as we rally together through this uncertain time.
