our story.

Welcome to Nimble Bear, which takes place in beautiful West Kelowna.  This was the second race we added to our series, in 2014 and was a no brainer when it came to choosing challenging and beautiful terrain to live up to the expectations we had building our series.

It's a very tough race that is awesome as an early season training race or your A goal.  We originally offered 5k, 16k and 25, however we got such positive praise on the trail network and views in this park that we decided to up the distances to 10k, 25k & 50km.  The 50k is two laps of the 25k... d
ouble the scenery, double the challenge and double the accomplishment.

take me to the views.

Running Nimble Bear is like opening up a treasure chest.  From the sweet single track, to the epic views, to running along the lake and under a rock bridge - there is quality & challenge all around you!  Held in Rose Valley Regional Park, Nimble Bear is a hidden gem that will leave a sparkle in your soul and ache in your quads.

personal touch.

From the beginning we have tried to to put as much heart and soul into our events as possible. We recognize and appreciate the investment that folks put into our series and we wanted to find special ways to show our gratitude in return. This started off with me wanting to make homemade finishers medals. For the first race in our series I made medals out of dough and cooked them in my oven. I learned very quickly that these little nuggets don't have the long-lasting potential of clay, so I signed up for a pottery membership, took lessons and started making ceramic medals. I now make over 1,000 medals per year with help of family & friends when I can get them in the studio with me.

Nimble Bear, however was where we started a tradition that runs deep within my family roots.  Every spring my Mom, Aunts and Grandmother (who's 93 years old) gets together to make homemade apple pies as prizes for this event.  In the fall of 2019 my Grandmother passed away, making it even more important for me to continue the tradition, spend time with my family and share my grandmothers recipe with our racers.
